First Focus, Resource Drop-in Centre,
is based in the centre of Fakenham Town. Its aim is
to provide a friendly service for the town, and people
living within a ten-mile radius.
The Focus Project is an information
based resource drop in centre. Initially for people
with disabilities, their families and their carers.
It is planned to develop the Focus project into a resource
serving the whole community.
Focus offers access to comprehensive up to date information.
It provides literature and Internet access to specific
resources, signposting people to more specialist resources
where appropriate.
There is a rolling twelve-week-programme of activities,
where organisations hold clinics of surgeries offering
information and support within their specialist areas.
Adult Education is running an I.T. course and will
offer taster sessions through out the year. There is
already a friendly informal art group that has started
and is beginning to discover new talents.
Focus is also being used as a venue where people meet
socially to enjoy a up of coffee and a friendly chat.
A team of local volunteers, supported by a management
committee, runs Focus.
Focus is based in the Youth Project Building on Thursday
from 10am until 3.30pm.At 18 Cattle Market St, Fakenham
