The Fakenham Society started life
in 1948/9 as The Fakenham Literary & Stage Society.
It changed to its present name in 1966, and has evolved
by the members' wishes to what it is today, a social
society with members interested in attending talks on
a variety of subjects. To meet this need the Society
has, for over 40 years now, arranged a programme of
fortnightly talks throughout the winter.
The talks are given at meetings, which are held every
other Thursday from October to March at the Masonic
Hall, Hayes Lane, off Oak Street, starting at 7:30pm.
Membership costs £13 for the season or £2.50
per meeting for guests and casual visitors.
All are welcome and the evening schedule has a midway
break, giving time for socialising over a tea / coffee
and biscuits, priced at just 50p.
