The Fakenham Society started life
in 1948/9 as The Fakenham Literary & Stage Society.
It changed to its present name in 1966, and has evolved
by the members' wishes to what it is today, a social
society with members interested in attending talks on
a variety of subjects throughout the winter months.
The Society is affiliated to the Council for the Protection
of Rural England (CPRE) through The Norfolk Society.
Honorary President Mr. Ken Brett
Meetings are held at The Masonic Hall, Hayes Lane,
Fakenham, on every other Thursday from October to March,
with a Christmas break. (For this seasons programme
see below).
The membership fee is currently £12 per season
of 12 meetings. This is set annually by the Committee
to cover the costs of speakers, venue etc.
New members are very welcome. Come along as a guest
to start with, for a fee of only £2 a meeting.
