| ON - THE BUSES - Friday, July 23, 2004 Two companies, Konectbus and Norfolk Green, are to take over local bus services recently dropped by First. Although there will be slight alterations to the original services, it is hoped that improved connections with other routes will compensate for any shorcomings. Routes affected are... 154 and 155 Fakenham to Dereham; 422 Fakenham to North Creake; 423 and 424 Fakenham to Docking and Burnham Market; 428 Fakenham to King's Lynn; 430 Pudding Norton to Fakenham and Safeway supermarket; 431 Fakenham to Wells. | WIND TURBINE TEST - Thursday, July 22, 2004 Nearby Tittleshall has been earmarked for a wind turbine test by Energy Workshop of York. The company is requesting permission to erect a 40 metre tubular steel mast at Godwick Hall to assess suitability of the location for producing wind power. It is planned to keep the mast in place for 2 years while data is collected. (full story) |
| BUS WITHDRAWLS - Tuesday, July 06, 2004 First Buses, the operator for our area, are about to withdraw some services from/to our town - starting from this August. The reason, they state, is that they are commercially unviable routes. Service numbers potentially affected are... 154 and 155 Fakenham to Dereham First's X56 Fakenham to Norwich and the Norfolk Green X98 Fakenham to King's Lynn and Cromer services will be unaffected |
