| NO TESCO LOBBY - Friday, January 30, 2004 A group called The Fakenham Safety Partnership has been set up to allow local people a voice in order to speak against the proposals for a Tesco store in town. Many local traders are against plans for the store, as they see it will affect their trade. School representatives are now also highlighting the way the proposals will affect the safety of pupils and other residents on their way to and from school. A recent forum post on this site raises concerns about traffic numbers and their effects on the Wells Road / Oak Street areas and reflects the anti-Tesco feeling which is surfacing locally. Anyone who'd like to contact the Fakenham Safety Partnership can call Mr Pat Moore on 01328 853139 (full story) |
