Fakenham exchange has been given a 'ready for service' date of 17th December by British Telecom. Most residents and businesses within approx 6Km of the exchange in Queens Road will then be able to apply for ADSL broadband via an ISP of their choice. (full story)

TOWN INCIDENT - Monday, September 08, 2003

Witnesses to the stabbing incident in our town centre late last Saturday night are being sought by police. The attack, near The Limes Hotel in Bridge Street, was just before midnight.

The victim suffered three stab wounds and was taken to the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. His wounds were described as serious but not life-threatening.

BROADBAND NEWS - Monday, September 01, 2003
Paul Joy, the Fakenham resident running the Broadband Fakenham website has had a great deal of success in gaining support for his campaign.  Fakenham has now reached around 250 signatures towards the magic figure of 300 - the 'trigger level' needed by BT before they consider converting the town's exchange for their broadband ADSL service.  Well done, Paul - keep it up! VOTE RESULTS - Wednesday, June 11, 2003

The referendum on Wildmoor's town redevelopment proposals resulted a resounding "NO".

The main question - "Do you agree with the redevelopment including shops and affordable housing?', resulted in 771 'no' votes out of 1162 - almost 2 to 1 against.

19.3% of the population voted (1170) and 1024 of these said that if the plans to provide shops, social housing and car parking were approved the existing level of free car parking in the town must be maintained.
