| YOUR SAY ON NNDCs CORE STRATEGY - Friday, April 27, 2007 North Norfolk District Council has been preparing two new plans to guide future development in North Norfolk and you may recall that last Autumn they consulted on the ‘Preferred Options’ Core Strategy and Site Specific Proposals. After considering the comments made NNDC have now produced the ‘Submission’ Core Strategy which, on submission to the Secretary of State, will be subject to another six week period of public consultation and then an independent examination. From midday 18 June to midday 30 July the Independent Inspector will be seeking your views on the ‘Submission’ Core Strategy. If you wish to view the document and make comments, it will be available week commencing 18 June 2007;
Fakenham drop-in event is on Tues 26th June 2.00 - 7.00 pm, at Fakenham Community Centre. Comments must be received by the Programme Officer between midday Monday 18th June 2007 and midday Monday 30th July 2007 for consideration. (full story) |
| REFERENDUM APPLICATION - Friday, April 13, 2007 At a heated public assembly meeting on 11th April, Fakenham Action Group representatives presented an application for a referendum on the proposals for a Travellers' site on the edge of town. It was accepted by the NNDCs legal department officials who will now determine whether the application document meets legal requirements before proceeding with matters. It is thought that a referendum, if it goes ahead, could be carried out as soon as May. (full story) |
| FAKENHAM ANNUAL ASSEMBLY - Thursday, March 15, 2007 The forthcoming Annual Assembly of the Town will take place on 11th April 2007. The assembly will open at 4.00 p.m. with representatives from local organisations, police, fire etc and at 7.00 p.m. the Annual Assembly of the Town will commence. It is thought that the meeting will be well-attended, as representatives of the public will be officially requesting a referendum on the proposals for a traveller's site during the proceeds. | CRANMER HOUSE PLANS - Wednesday, March 14, 2007 A series of "drop-ins" are being held by the Norfolk Primary Care Trust to consult the region's residents about its proposals to curtail services. Plans for Fakenham mean that Cranmer House may have its services drastically reduced or removed in favour of Home Care. Our town's chance to meet the PCT and ask questions will be at Fakenham and District Community Centre, Thursday March 29, 10am- 2pm. Aylsham's recent meeting was attended by banner-toting protesters - including local doctors. |
| SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD SHOWCASE - Friday, March 09, 2007 'Operation Community' is a PR event planned by Norfolk Constabulary for Snoring Airfield on 14th March. It will accompany the launching of the Fakenham and Wells Safer Neighbourhood Teams and the purpose is to showcase to the media and local residents many of the partnership Agencies that work together for the people of Fakenham and Wells There are at present approx 20 agencies scheduled to attend, with vehicles and 2 Helicopters (possibly 3 including Search and rescue). Agencies represented will be the Fire Service, Ambulance, Coast Guard, MOD police, USAF Police, Police Dog Units, NNDC CCTV partnership, RAF Police, British Military Police, etc. to name a few The parade will assemble on Little Snoring Airfield for a fly-over and overhead photography by the Police Air Support Unit. All profits made on the day will be donated to Charity (Cancer Research). Watch out for coverage in your local paper and on TV! (full story) |
